Sunday 3rd July

Tree Planting Day – Main Ridge

This NAIDOC Week, Our Songlines is teaming up with the Mornington Landcare Facilitator Program to offset the carbon footprint of Our Survival Day (January 26 2022).

First Nations values are all about reciprocity and ensuring sustainable pathways for future generations. It is such an important part of the Our Songlines values that we continue to create a future that we can all be proud of for many generations.

The OSD theme for 2022 was re-connection: to land, to community, to culture. In alignment with this theme, and the Our Songlines values which are ingrained in protecting Mother Earth, this event has been our most sustainable one yet!

What to bring: BYO hat, reusable cup for the coffee van on site, gloves, weather appropriate clothes and a water bottle. Landcare will supply all other tools and equipment for tree planting.

Lunch is provided.

Register here.

2021 EVENTS

Saturday 10th July
Koala Food Tree Planting – Somers

Human impact has devastated Koalas and so its time to fix what has been done, and plant some delish food for our koalas.

Our Songlines is partnering with the brilliant people at MP Koala Conservation and Parks Victoria.

Spend the morning with us to plant 100’s of koala food trees and other local trees and shrubs to increase koala habitat.

Habitat loss is the main reason for the decline of koalas and other wildlife, so let’s do something about it!

This is a great opportunity to learn about our environment and local wildlife, including koalas, while helping us to increase available habitat.

Important Information: Please wear long pants and closed shoes as we will be walking through bush and grassy areas. Bring your own hat, gardening gloves, water and snacks. We will provide all tools and hand sanitiser.

We are planting at Coolart Wetlands & Homestead, Lord Somers Road, Somers. You will see our big teardrop flag as you enter and their is plenty of parking available on site.

Confirm your attendance here.
